SKYOBS is the website of an amateur observatory located in the central United Kingdom. Originaly designed as a meteor observing and reporting service, in 2012 the decision was taken to scale back the operation to just basic data provision and imagery, including estimated sky clarity based upon the sky temperature as measured in the infrared.

Whilst a 24/7 cloud camera and a dedicated north facing meteor camera (dusk to dawn) are still operational, the lack of consistently clear nights and an unobstructed sky has limited the effectiveness of the equipment for meteor and fireball patrol.

That said, future developments include the introduction of a forward scatter meteor detector... so please continue to watch this space!
